Hi Christ Church Family,
As you may be aware, Governor Wolf recently released new Covid-19 restrictions for the state of PA that go into effect this Saturday. You may be wondering if and how they affect our indoor gatherings. We were encouraged to find that the state has placed a value on religious services, and has not further changed the protocols for meeting. Section 3 subpoint B of this new order it states, “Churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and other places of congregate worship are specifically excluded from the limitations set forth above during religious services. These institutions are strongly encouraged to enforce physical distancing and other mitigation measures at their gatherings.” https://www.governor.pa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/20201210-TWW-Limited-Time-Mitigation-Order.pdf.
Therefore, we are going to continue to meet with all our protocols in place. We are grateful that, to our knowledge, we have had no instances of community transmission to date. It appears our mitigation efforts have so far been effective and for that we thank God. We want to continue to take the exhortations for safety seriously, and ask all to do the same. Wear a mask. Observe social distancing. Wash your hands. These things matter and as image bearers of God we must continue to treat life as sacred by doing what we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
