Hi Friends,

We are excited about Serving Sunday, your opportunity to get more plugged in at Christ Church! Each of you has a purpose that God wants you to discover in His church and a joy that He wants to give you through this purpose. So this Sunday everyone has an opportunity to sign up for a ministry team to join what God is doing at Christ Church in making, maturing and multiplying disciples of Jesus.

At 9:30 am, we will have coffee and donuts along with a table for each ministry team. You’ll be able to chat with other volunteers from each ministry about how serving works and what to expect. Please be praying now about what God might be inviting you into!

On Sunday, you can sign up for one of the specific roles below. Or if you aren’t sure what might be the best fit, you can check a box that “I would like help to find the best fit” and one of our staff members will follow up with you.Training for ministry teams will begin in October and November, and volunteers will step into their roles after the training is complete and they are comfortable.

Here is a list of the various opportunities you have:

Christ Church Kids:

Serve families by supporting the teaching of God’s Word in an age-appropriate classroom setting during the sermon. No experience is needed, and there are both helper and teacher roles for toddlers up to 3rd graders.

Usher Team

Greet people with warmth as they first walk through the doors, hand them a program and help them find info or a seat, as needed. Typically, after the first worship song the usher returns to the service until it concludes. Then, they greet and engage with guests at the Connect Table.

A/V Team

Help people participate more fully in the service by running the projections, including song lyrics, announcements and sermon slides along with the livestream. The A/V person arrives when the music team practices (8:30am) and stays till after the service has concluded. No prior A/V experience is needed.

Sound Team

Run the sound board for the service. The sound person arrives when the music team practices (8:30am) stays till after the service has concluded. No prior sound experience is needed.

Music Team

Use your musical or singing skills to help people worship God through song. The music team arrives prior to the Sunday Service at 8:30am to rehearse and prepare.

Set Up / Clean Up

Ensure the church building is in order for the service by straightening chairs, spot cleaning, and refilling supplies. The set up / clean up person would either arrive before the service or stay after the service for the role.

If you would like to signup online, you can do that at https://christchurchsouthphilly.org/card/serving-opportunities/

We look forward to all that God has for you through serving. See you at 9:30 am!
In Christ,
