Christ Church is part of a something bigger than ourselves; a family of churches called Sovereign Grace.  Below is a quarterly prayer report from our Executive Director, Mark Prater.  I wanted to make you aware of these things, because praying for one another is a great way to express our partnership in the gospel.

In my State of the Union message that I gave in Orlando, one of the things I called us to is to be “devoted servants who trust in God’s sovereign goodness.” One of the ways we express that trust is through fervent, unceasing prayer. To accomplish our shared mission to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ by planting and strengthening churches throughout the world, we need God’s power, help, wisdom and provision. Therefore, as an expression of trust in God’s sovereign goodness, and as an expression of interdependence on one another, please consider taking time to pray for our family of churches.

I want to thank you ahead of time for making time to pray for Sovereign Grace Churches and our shared mission. Your genuine, fervent prayers are a wonderful expression of being a devoted servant of Christ, and your commitment to our gospel partnership.

With appreciation for your prayers,

  • Pray that God would draw unbelievers to Sovereign Grace churches as we hold our Christmas related events and services in December.
  • Pray that God would give the members of Sovereign Grace churches opportunities to share the gospel with unbelieving family members and friends over the holiday season.
  • Pray for Shawn Powers and his team as they plant Redemption Hill Church in Des Moines, IA asking God to provide for their needs, and to give them gospel opportunities with unbelievers.
  • Pray for the Leadership Team, and Dave Taylor (Director of Emerging Nations) in particular, asking God to give us wisdom for how to steward our relationship with three pastors in India who have expressed a desire to be adopted into Sovereign Grace Churches.
  • Please pray for Doug Moo who will be teaching a course entitled, “Paul for Pastors” at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College, December 11-14, 2018 asking God to use him to equip and strengthen our Pastors College students and the Sovereign Grace pastors taking the class.
  • Pray that God would continue to provide financially for Sovereign Grace Churches so that we can fund the gospel opportunities He is giving us.
