Hi Friends,

I’m really looking forward to kicking off our Christmas series this Sunday.  I know the Holidays can be so busy, but I think God has something really important to say to us this Christmas season if we are willing to slow down and listen.  Yet, slowing down can be so hard to do.  But these next two Sundays that is the opportunity that is in front of us.  God is giving us the opportunity to slow down, take a break from the rush and find our rest in Him.
This would be a great series to invite a neighbor out to.  This Sunday we are going to be looking at how Christmas is a story of grace and then next week we’ll be looking at how Christmas is a story of courage.  Our time will be spent in Matthew 1 as we look at parts of the Christmas story that I think can easily be overlooked and forgotten.
See you soon on the best day of the week!

Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled. My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O LORD– how long? Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. (Psa 6:2-4 ESV)

Small Groups

Our small groups are this week, please check with the small leader for the holiday schedule! These groups are a vital part of our community life where we gather in smaller numbers to eat together, study the Bible and pray. You can find out more by grabbing a Small Group Info Card at our Info Table.

Christmas Eve Service

Our Christmas Eve Service will be held on Tuesday, December 24th at 4pm. This will be a family integrated service, so our children will remain with us the whole time as we hear our kid’s choir, sing Christmas Carols, and listen to a short sermon by Pastor Jeff called “Coming Home”.  We are excited for this service and the opportunity it gives us to invite our neighbors.

TTR End of Year Donation

At our Christmas Eve Service we will be taking a special offering for our faith based recovery community center, Transformation to Recovery.  This ministry seeks to reach men and women who are in the darkness of addiction with the light of the love of Jesus. TTR is in support, so please consider giving an end of the year gift to help us continue this vital work.

Support Orphans for Christmas –

We have the opportunity to help stock classrooms for an orphanage in Uganda.  Please visiting the table in the lobby to select a gift tag for an item to donate.

Jude Bible Study

Christ Church Women are beginning a new bible study in Jude through a video series by Jackie Hill Perry.  There will be various meet ups taking place to discuss the study. For more details on the study and to sign up (by December 20th) please visit: https://christchurchsouthphilly.org/card/womens-bible-study-sign-up/

Church Family Meeting –

We are going to have a meeting for all church members on January 12th immediately following the service to launch our vision for the New Year. While we ask that all members attend this meeting, we also want to open this meeting to non members to attend as well.
