Hi Friends,

This Sunday we are going to be discussing what I think is the hardest question in our Questioning Christianity series; “How can a loving God send people to Hell?”  Hell is not something that we like to think about, much less talk about.  Yet, I think understanding this weighty doctrine more clearly can have a tremendous impact on our experience of God’s love and also our love for others.  This might sound odd, but I think this would be a special Sunday to invite someone to our church.  That’s not usually our first thought when the message is on Hell. But I think there is something special and significant that God wants to do.  Please be praying for our time together and praying about who God wants you to invite.

See you on the best day of the week

Pastor Jeff

9:00am Sunday Prayer Meeting at Front and Mifflin

10:00 Call to Worship

Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars!  Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!  Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created. And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.  Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word!  Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds! Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and maidens together, old men and children! Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven. (Psa 148:1-13 ESV)

Sermon:  How could a loving God send people to Hell?

Text:  Matthew 5:21-22

Speaker:  Pastor Jeff Boettcher

Responding to God’s word through Lord’s Supper and Song

  1. Jesus Paid it All

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1Jo 4:9-11 ESV)
