Hi Friends,

One of the challenges we can experience in our walk with Christ is that we keep trying to turn it into a religion.  That might sound odd, because many think of Christianity as a religion. But in Luke 16:14-16 we are going to see Jesus going against religion and teaching something totally different.  His message is one we need to hear again and again.

Also, if you haven’t taken our Fall Survey yet, please do so by clicking here.  And if you haven’t read the blog post on the Lord’s supper, you can do so here.

Look forward to worshipping with you on the best day of the week!

Sunday Morning Prayer Meeting 9am

Tutoring K-6 grades at Christ Church: We have an exciting opportunity to support our community through in-person tutoring for kids grades K-6 after school.  In the past, we have provided homework help at Kirkbride School.  This year, we will be hosting a tutoring program for neighborhood kids at Christ Church!  The program will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15-6:00pm from October 5 through December 16.  We are in need of volunteers to help with registration, sanitizing, and tutoring.  Masks and social distancing required.  If you are interested or want more information, please fill out the interest form https://forms.gle/DMHrv1PB3dkn5fqEA or email Jessie McCurley (mccurleyclan14@gmail.com) or Claire Bermudez (claire.bermudez@gmail.com).

Women’s Bible Study: This Fall, join other women in a study of the Sermon on the Mount.  The meeting times will include a review of personal study and watching a video together by Jen Wilkin.  We will meet every other week on Sunday afternoons, Monday nights and Friday mornings. In addition, on Saturday mornings there will be a group doing an inductive study of a book of the Bible.  If you have never studied a book of the Bible and are confused about how to do so we’d encourage you to participate in this study.
