Hi Friends,
Sorry this is getting out late.  I am really excited to be back with you all this Sunday and to pick up in our Luke series.   We are going to look together at something that often doesn’t get talked about and that many pretend doesn’t exist; fear.  We are going to see what it is that actually makes us afraid and how Jesus wants to lead us from fear to peace through the path of faith.
See you on the best day of the week!
Pastor Jeff

Call to Worship

How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.  They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light (Psa 36:7-9 ESV)

Easter Week Events:

This year, we will be having the following Easter events: an Easter Meal Packing Night on April 18th @7pm, a Good Friday Service on April 19th @6:30pm, an Easter Meal giveaway on April 20th @8:30am, and a free Easter Egg Hunt on April 20th @10am. These are unique ways to bless our community and love our neighbors! Please sign up to volunteer to help with our Easter events on the insert that is included in your program. Fill it out and drop it in one of the pockets hanging from the chairs.

Easter Egg Hunt Candy:

Please help with the Easter Egg Hunt by donating candy for the 6,000 eggs we need to fill! We will be collecting bags of egg sized candy (think mini or fun-sized packs) that is nut free in the lobby. If you are able to donate, please drop off the candy in the large colorful collection box in the lobby.

Small Groups

Our small groups are this week on the 26th, 27th, and 28th! These groups are a vital part of our community life where we gather in smaller numbers to eat together, study the bible and pray. This is also one of the best ways to connect with people from the church. For more information, look for the handout at the Info Table.

New Members Class

This class pops the hood of our church and takes a look at the engine that drives us.  Whether you want to become a church member, or are just curious about who we are, this class is a great opportunity to learn more about what the Bible teaches us about the local church and how we apply that here at Christ Church.  Part 1 is this Sunday and Part 2 is next Sunday immediately following our Sunday Service. Lunch and childcare are provided.

Ladies Breakfast:

Save the date for the “Blooming Where You’re Planted” Ladies Potluck Breakfast on Saturday, May 4th at 9:30-11:30am here at the church featuring guest speaker Laurie Reyes.  More details to come.

Youth Group:

Our youth group will be meeting today from 12:30-3pm. After the church service, we will meet in the lobby and walk over to the Catoe’s home for some fun activities. Youth ages 12-18 years old are invited to join us. For more information email Joe Catoe: ccyouth@christchurchsouthphilly.org.

Benediction

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1Pe 5:6-7 ESV)
