Hi Friends,

How do you answer hard questions about the Christian faith?  Whether questions come from a thoughtful non-believer, or our own musings, we can all be skeptical at times.  How do you answer skepticism?   Come out this Sunday to hear how Jesus engages with some of his skeptics.  Not only are we going to hear what he says, but we have much to learn from how he said it.
See you on the best day of the week!

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.  (Psa 19:1-4 ESV)

Small Groups

Our small groups are this week on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th! These groups are a vital part of our community life where we gather in smaller numbers to eat together, study the Bible and pray. You can find out more by grabbing a Small Group Info Card at our Info Table.

Guys Night

Come watch Sunday Night Football at the Christ Church building tonight!  There will be cornhole, ping pong and other games set up. For food, each person is asked to bring their favorite sandwich.  We’ll cut them up, share them around and then vote on which one we think is the best. The fun starts at 7pm.

Church Work Day – Saturday, October 26th starting in the morning

We will have a church workday the morning of Saturday, October 26th from 9am-4pm to help clean and improve the facility. From some deep cleaning, to organization, to painting and small construction we have a list of tasks that we need your help to do. Coffee, donuts, and lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Matt Slingerland (matt@christchurchsouthphilly.org), if able to help us know how many people to expect.

Friendsgiving Dinner – Saturday, November 16th at 5:30pm.

Included in your program is an invite to our upcoming Friendsgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 16th at 5:30pm. We encourage you to write the name of a neighbor or friend who you plan on inviting to the dinner on the envelope and begin praying for them.  In addition to the invite inside the envelope, there is a small blank card where you can write a personal invitation out to whoever you plan on inviting. The Friendsgiving Dinner is a special opportunity each year where we get to gather and bless our neighbors and friends with a meal here at our church. More details on food donations are to come at small groups this week!

Benediction

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities– all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent (Col 1:15-18 ESV)
