In 2018 we saw God continue to do amazing things as we joined Him in His great mission to make, mature and multiply disciples of Jesus in South Philly. In a neighborhood where only 3% of the population are involved with a church, we have continued to see God do great work. Please continue to keep our church in prayer and if you want to partner with us, we sure could use the help!
We rang in the New Year by celebrating the Eagle’s Superbowl Victory! Rumor has it that Pastor Jeff was saving our spot on Broad Street by 7am.
In February we launched our non profit- Transformation to Recovery- and we have since seen hundreds of people make use of this faith based recovery center. We also purchased a 10 bed residential facility to help men in transition.
At the end of March we celebrated Easter by having a huge Easter festival at our neighborhood park. We had a performance by a local band, games, Easter Egg hunt and handed out over 750 easter meals.
In August we had our second Summer Festival and over 1,200 people were attendance!
In September we were visited by several of the Phillies and Adam Morgan shared his testimony and thanked Christ Church for supporting Pastor Jeff in his role as chaplain.
Also in September we welcomed in our second new member’s class of the year and continued to hear people’s life changing testimonies as they were baptized.
We love supporting our neighborhood and so we were glad to provide a back to school breakfast for the staff at Kirkbride Elementary.
In November we had a neighborhood FriendsGiving and shared a meal with 150 neighbors.
For December we continued our Christmas tradition of caroling in the neighborhood.
